AN EXPERT IN ITS AREA…
 The aim of Tofaş R & D Center is to use the accumulated knowledge of Tofaş and Fiat in the best possible way and to present the best products to customers. Therefore, ‘expertise in areas specific to peculiar conditions’ in Turkey and in the countries to which exportation is actualized has been taken into the forefront instead of ‘expertise in every area’. It is among the most important aims of Tofaş-Fiat to create ‘centers of excellence’ in specific areas.
Acoustics and Vibration Ensuring that the trim noise, frame noise and noise inside the cabin are kept at a lower level and that the outer noise level of the car is in harmony with the European norms owing to the road conditions in Turkey and/or competition.
Engine and Emission TTofaş has a laboratory in line with the norms of FAZ 3 in this issue in Turkey. The laboratory has been set up in a way as to allow the performance of research and measurements on emission and fuel consumption in the climactic room conditions of -35° / +40 °.
Suspension Meeting the needs of various suspension components stemming from the difference of road conditions in Turkey and the countries to which exportation is made. The laboratory geared towards suspension and exhaustion is the only laboratory in Turkey that has the newest technology in the world in this area. The climactic room where the shake tests are performed according to the road conditions in Turkey is a room of which the temperature can be adjusted between -40°C / +100°C, sun and rain simulation can be performed and of which the humidity can be adjusted.
Exhaustion Carrying out the exhaustion tests for the developed components in the benches in line with the road conditions in Turkey.
Road Performance Tests Carrying out the performance tests like acceleration, gas consumption, power, moment, road handling and noise tests for the developed cars.
Road Simulation Preparation of the cars in accordance with the road conditions in Turkey by connecting various sensors to the car, collecting road data and simulating then on the bench.
